Day 16 of LSM: July 16th

Total Spent...$2 on dish detergent.

Of course something we only buy every few months had to run out in the middle of this month. Oh well. I really wanted to by something that I knew was eco-friendly, like Seventh Generation, or new Palmolive Clean, but hubby ran out and picked it up, so we have good ole Dawn.

I got my lazy butt to the pool yesterday and spent half and hour swimming. It felt so amazing and refreshing. I'd forgotten how much I miss it. I'm moderately sore today, which I'll take as a good sign. I also had to run out to Bed, Bath and Beyond to pick up a wedding gift for this Saturday. Armed with tons of the 20% off coupons and as well as a $5 off I walked out of there with $60 of merchandise and only $34 poorer. Not too bad since I went in there planning to spend $50. Plus, they wrap for you, so I don't have to deal with that hassle, or the money to buy gift wrap. Love it!

I have really gotten bitten by the house bug lately, and really, really, really want a place of our own. I've been looking them up online and drool over places I know we can't afford. Is it sad that it's easily $220,000 for a single home (major fixer-upper) and we are no where close to being able to afford it. The more I look, the more depressed I get, because I wonder if we will ever be able to afford a place around here. Alright, enough with the sob story.

I'm excited to spend the night at my in-laws and for the yard sale tomorrow! I don't think I've ever had a yard sale in my entire life! I guess that happens when your house is over a quarter mile off the road. I wanted to bake and sell some goodies, but hubby told me that people around there don't buy food at sales because they don't know what may be in it. Ouch. I didn't realize that area was so bad. Saturday afternoon we head off to the wedding. I know both the bride and groom, but I don't think I'll know anyone else, but hubby will since he went to school (high school with the one, and college with the other). It should be a good time!

Have a great weekend y'all!!!

Home prices depress me too! I think a lot of us struggling with debt feel that way...when I think it's an unattainable goal, I try to boost my morale by saying at least we didn't stretch to buy something during the boom! Responsible homeownership will be worth the wait!
