May 17th Spending

Total spent...$43.43 on groceries, and $10 on a movie.

Can I just say that this was a great week of sales! We were able to get 9 items for better than free, I actually made a dollar!
  • 2 boxes of triscuits 2- $1 off coupon
  • 1 box of wheat thins 1 - $1 off coupon
  • 3 boxes of crystal light 3 - $1 off coupons
  • 1 boxes of crystal light skin essential BO (crystal light) GO (skin essential) free
  • 2 containers of cool whip 1 - $1 off 2
All the above items were on sale 2/$4 except the cool whip which was 10/$10. Should have totaled $16 with the sales, with the coupons it brought me down to $7, I had 4 dollar doublers, so it brought me down to $3, and the store had a sale, if I bought 8 items I would automatically get $4 off my purchase!

I had a blast at the baby shower yesterday too. It was a great time with friends, and seeing baby things are so cute. Plus, I won one of the games and get a free reed diffuser. Yay!
I then came home and transformed into what my hubby called me, a domestic diva. I finally got shoes for the wedding I'm in this coming weekend, and still need to hem the dress. I don't have a sewing machine, so it's all by hand. Ick. It's not the best hem job ever, but as long as it works I'm happy. I have the 2 inside layers done, I just have to figure out how to do the sheer outside. Any suggestions?

On the downside of the day, hubby got a ticket. :-( Despite not wanting to spend money, he agreed to go out to the movies with a student he's building a mentor relationship with. On his way home he got pulled over because apparently his registration is out of date. The cop was a real jerk to him too. I guess with us moving or something we never got the renewal papers in the mail, and didn't realize it had expired. As soon as he got home hubby hopped online and registered, but it was still too late for the $110 fine he got. Not cool. There should be some way to go down to the police station and show them proof that it's registered. You can do that if you get pulled over and there is something wrong with your car, like a headlight out or something. Oh well, we'll just have to be more careful to keep an eye on things like that.

I'm so jealous! I have a couple questions for you too:

-Where do you get all your coupons?

- Where do you shop? I may be mistaken but do they double up your coupons?

You might want to check into that registration thing. I think they might consider it a fix-it ticket and you'll just have to show you got it taken care of. It's worth looking into anyway. :-(

I loved going coupon shopping. I don't do it anymore, not really sure why, but I always felt like a conqueror when leaving the store.

@ Live simply - lol! Thank you :-)

@Serendipity - I get them from the newspaper inserts and printable ones online. Coupons.com!
I shop at a store that's just in the East, Giant, and yes, they do double.

@Falling - Yes, I def. want my hubby to try and get it fixed b/c if we can save that $110 I'm there! lol. Couponing is def. a thrill!
