May 16th Spending

Total spent...hmm let me tally it up....

First, I started out the morning hitting up yard sales!!! Yup, I finally had a free Saturday and it was a great one. Tons of 'multi family' sales in my township. I ended up spending a total 0f $10.60, $5 of which are baby shower gifts. I got 2 pretty flower pots for a total of $0.35. I've been needing one because I have a friend giving me a tomato plant and I need a big pot, she also gave me some mint which will fill out the smaller one nicely. I also bought a green necklace there for $.025. I then bought 3 organic cotton onesie, still in there original packaging for $5. They price on the back said they were $5.99 and the double pack $8.99, so a total deal! I bought Pictionary for $1 for hubby's classroom, and 4 coffee signs for $2. On my way home I passed a lone sale and stopped...I'm glad I did. As I was browsing the one lady said if I saw anything just to take it. So I asked if the drying rack she had by the back door (that had a towel on it) happened to be for sale. She said she'd take $.25 for it! Sweeeet! Hubby and I were just taking about how we should really get another one. I also picked up a Kate Spade purse for $2. Did I really need it, no. But it's cute and basic and only $2!

I still needed to pick up something else for the shower and hubby had wanted to check out Old Navy since I told him I had a $5 off coupon there, so off we went. For $21.96 hubby got a white button down, I got a green tank, black lightweight sweater and 2 3/4 sleeve shirts. It was splurge shopping, and not to justify it, but each item broke down to just over $4...

We then headed off to Target for the remainer of the shower gift and a food scale for a total of $16.40.

We ended the day with a trip to the gym where I totally killed my legs and am hoping I can walk tomorrow. :-) Especially since I have the shower to go to.

I think I am going to hire you as my personal shopper! Those signs are so cute! I want to start hitting yard sales but in our area Friday is the big yard day and I work. Think I may have to take a friday morning off here and there this summer.

Nice! Scoring great deals is so much fun! I need to go to some yard sales. Last summer I bought my husband a kayak for super cheap, we didn't need it but it was almost to great a deal to pass up!
Way to go that is awesome!

@ Rochelle - Haha sure any time :-) How do they hold it on a Friday? Do they take off work to do it? That just seems strange.

@ Live Simply - Wow! My hubby would love it if I came home with a kayak for him!

@ Brooke - Thanks :-) I'm happy with my loot ;-)

A lot of people do take off work. I held mine during my staycation last year. It's just become popular the last few years.
