Frugal February Tip #7

Tip #7 - Wash your clothes in cold water whenever possible. Hot water not only runs up your heating bill, but it shrinks clothes, and makes colors run. Unless someone's sick and you need the hot water to disinfect avoid using it and save big.

I did this in college when I couldn't afford to do two separate loads of whites and colored. I threw everything in a prayed they would come out alright. They did, and still do to this day. Plus, washing in cold saves time (which some argue is money), by not having to sort them.

I do this all time in hopes of not shrinking my clothes. I am glad that I can now tell people it's just a way to be frugal instead. :)
