Frugal February Tip #24

Tip #24 - Use less gas and save! Duh. This is all something we learned a few months ago when gas prices soared over $4. I think we all became a little more conscience of where we were driving and if we really needed to, or if there was anything else we could do while we were out. Do you still do that now? Gas may be more than half the price it was 6 months ago, but you will still save money if you conserve it. Hubby and I try to see how long we can go on one tank, it's kind of like a competition, so each of us wants to out do the other.

  • Use cruise control when you can, and drive a steady pace
  • Avoid race car starts, and slamming on your brakes to stop
  • Carpool whenever possible (hubby does this and it's amazing!)
  • Make a list of everywhere you need to go and plan the best route to accomplish it all
  • Limit the amount of time you run out to grab something 'real quick'
  • Reduce the amount of clutter in your car, less weights means more miles :-)

My new car has cruise control! I'm not sure if I want to use it in Las Vegas though the people here drive erratic and crazy. :)
