Tip #14 - Change your light bulbs. I'm sure you've heard it before, but it seriously does save. Replace your normal incandescent bulbs for the CFL ones. It may take a minute (well a few seconds) for them to 'warm up' when you turn them on, but once they do, the amount of light they give off is amazing! I got so used to them, that when we moved out of our place and put the old bulbs in, I was shocked at how dark our kitchen was. The up front cost may be a little bit more, but their lifetime is so much longer, and they use a lot less energy. Actually I just came across a post at
simpledollar comparing the cost.

do you know if there are options to CFL when you don't want that florescent lighting look in your place?
I know that they have ones that are suppose to emulate natural light. Hubby's dad bought some, so we took one home to try. At first I really didn't like it, but it grew on me. I'm not sure what it's called, but I'm sure if you look in the light bulb aisle you could find it.
