I was browsing the internet trying to find ways that I can integrate green living in our everyday living, when I stumbled across this article. It talks about how you can make money recycling thanks to the company Recyclebank. After I finished the article I googled them to see how it worked, because something just seemed off about getting money back for having the recycle truck come to your house and pick it up.
So here's the deal:
1. You get a cart from them that has an ID number on it.
2. You place all your recyclables in it.
3. Put your cart on the curb to be picked up. The truck will come by to pick it up, and weigh and record it.
4. You receive Points that you can cash in for rewards.
The only catch is that it is in limited areas right now.
It sounds like a great idea! I can't wait till it comes to my area. For people who already recycle it's an added bonus, and for those who don't, hopefully it's an incentive to start. Has anyone tried this? I would love to hear about your experience with it!
